Board Development for Altadena Heritage

As an unincorporated area, Altadena lacks many of the protective ordinances that smaller cities in the San Gabriel Valley have. Altadena Heritage (altadenaheritage.org) is an all-volunteer organization that has advocated to preserve Altadena’s history since the mid-1980s. Because they have no staff, they wanted to empower their board not only to lead the organization, but execute their work as well. JRP volunteers Lisa Hart and Natasha Morisawa recently completed a 9-month board development project that included training on board best practices and the beginnings of a strategic plan. Board Chair Linda World said that she’s already seen board meetings become more focused and productive and that they loved with these two wonderful board coaches. Thank you to Lisa, Natasha and the Altadena Heritage board for sharing your time and expertise to keep Altadena so beautiful!
