Using Volunteers Strategically

Five Acres (5acres.org) promotes safety, well-being and permanency for children and their families, and they use lots of volunteers to provide these critical services. Their new Volunteer Coordinator, Sue, wanted to make sure she was deploying volunteers in the most strategic way, so asked Jericho Road Pasadena for help. We placed 2 skilled volunteers, Tammy and Pinar, with Sue to think through their volunteer system and update their volunteer manual. Sue said “They were both lovely and professional. They knew exactly how to go about the project and help me to bring it to completion.” Five Acres is a great organization (I should know, as I was a volunteer there for a couple of years!) who wanted a couple of thoughts partners to make sure they stay great. Thanks to Pinar and Tammy’s support, Sue can continue recruiting and placing the right volunteers to enhance the lives of foster kids, adoptive families and strengthen at-risk families.
