The next Pasadena Executive Roundtable (pasadenaexecutiveroundtable.org) meeting will be Wed., Feb. 21, 8:30 – 10 am. Hosted by the Cancer Support Community, the speaker will be Nancy Berlin of CalNonProfits.
All nonprofits have a vital role to play in our democracy. For 501(c)(3) public charities, that role includes lobbying. Nonprofits have every right to advocate on behalf of policies they believe in, but when this advocacy deals with specific legislation, limits come into play that you need to know about.
Nancy Berlin is the Policy Director of CalNonprofits. In this presentation, she will help nonprofits learn how to advocate to more effectively fulfill our missions without getting into trouble with the IRS or Attorney General.
Nancy will also give us more information about CalNonprofits membership and answer questions about how tax reform may impact charitable giving this year.
