Being a teacher isn’t easy. Class are often too full and teachers are expected to teach everything from ABCs to ethics to job skills. As our society becomes more technology-centered, kids are also increasingly distracted. School Yoga (https://school-yoga.org/) addresses the physical, mental, emotional and social well-being of students through yoga-based mindfulness practices. Founder Kelly Wood not only teaches in class, but teaches teachers, helping them to get their students to focus on what they’re learning and on their environment. This improves academic achievement, as well as self-awareness and student interactions.
But Kelly’s expertise is translating yoga practices to the classroom, not web development. Enter JRP volunteers Amily, Kat, Jessica, Martin and Stephanie, a great team who helped Kelly’s update School Yoga’s website, improve search engine optimization and make sure that School Yoga’s benefits to kids, teachers and classrooms are clear.
Thanks to this great team of volunteers, School Yoga has a lovely website and most importantly – Kelly can focus on what she does best – getting kids to have clear focus on their education.
