PayPal has a charity arm called the PayPal Giving Fund, which is supposed to be a service to collect donations through third party websites like GuideStar. I was glad to see this Nonprofit Quarterly article (https://nonprofitquarterly.org/2017/03/01/class-action-suit-filed-paypals-giving-platform/) as JRP has been jumping through hoops for 3 months to transfer a donation someone made to us through GuideStar. It doesn’t help that no one at PayPal knows that they have the charitable arm that’s a separate organization, so you can’t even get help if you call PayPal. If any nonprofits are trying to figure out how to process donations made through a third party website, feel free to contact me; I’ve jumped through most of the hoops, so can walk you through the process.
