Nonprofits don’t always have a great relationship with money; it’s in the name that we’re not concerned about making money! Of course, NPOs needs to have good money management skills, but many don’t know how to read a financial statement or prepare a budget.
When I first posted this in Oct .2011, we had just gotten a new finance volunteer, Judy Gain, who has gone on to help Arlington Garden and Adelante Youth Alliance to manage their finances well, as well as JRP Board Treasurer and Board Chair of the Pasadena Community Foundation. Thank you, Judy, for all the wonderful work you do for our community!
If your nonprofit can use help with finances, whether basics like budgeting and setting up a chart of accounts, or more advanced like a review of financial infrastructure, JRP has several great finance experts, and we’ll have a Nonprofit Finance 101 class in May 2018.
