Throwback Thursday: Greeley Grant for Friends in Deed

We love Friends in Deed so much, we even helped them get a small grant!

From August 2016: The national Jericho Road Project and Jericho Road Pasadena are excited to award the Greeley Grand for Excellence to Friends in Deed (www.friendsindeedpas.org), one of our wonderful nonprofit clients!

In 2005, the Board of the Dana McLean Greeley Foundation for Peace and Justice of Concord, Massachusetts made a decision to dissolve the foundation and disburse its assets to other worthy charitable organizations. The Jericho Road Project was the recipient of a generous endowment, with a provision that permits the Jericho Road Project to provide a grant to its deserving nonprofit clients. The Greeley Grant for Excellence is a cash award for a nonprofit client who demonstrates superior collaborative effort with Jericho Road volunteers.

Friends in Deed and Jericho Road Pasadena have had a rich collaboration in the past 2 years. Volunteer Jim Hilvert has provided executive coaching and board development projects, and volunteer Sarah Emery Bunn provided event publicity support. Jericho Road Pasadena has provided over $5,000 in pro bono services to Friends in Deed and we’re so excited to provide a small cash grant, through the national Jericho Road Project! The 2,400 poor and at-risk clients that use Friends in Deed’s services each year will ultimately benefit from JRP’s grant and pro bono support.
