Throwback Thursday: Database for College Access Plan

College Access Plan (collegeaccessplan.org) is another of JRP’s favorite organizations in town. By preparing underserved students to maximize their college potential, they have a long-term impact on our community, they’re a well-run organization and the staff is simply awesome! Most recently, JRP completed a new informational video for CAP.

Our first project was database development for CAP in fall 2012: CAP recently asked us for a new database. We discussed using SalesForce, which generously allows nonprofits to use their incredible Constituent Relationship Manager (e.g. big database) for free. SalesForce also encourages their employees to volunteer 1% of their work time, so I was able to find a SalesForce employee to adapt their CRM to College Access Plan’s specific needs. I’m always amazed to find such perfect volunteers, and our SalesForce employee couldn’t be a more perfect fit for CAP. Thanks to SalesForce for donating their product and time, to CAP for their great work helping kids get into college, and of course to our new SalesForce volunteer for his time and talent!
