John E. Perez was born in Los Angeles and has been a member of the Pasadena Police Department since 1985. He has worked a variety of assignments such as community relations, internal affairs, gang enforcement and narcotics. He has been a senior command staff member since 2006. He has served in the Field Operations Division, Strategic Services Division and Administrative Services Division. He is currently the Interim Chief of Police and is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the Pasadena Police Department.
