Gathering local nonprofits to interface and share

We sometimes hear comments that Pasadena’s huge number of nonprofits don’t work together as effectively as they could. To address this issue, several gathering places have emerged where organizations can share challenges and successes, get to know other local services, and build professional capacity. One of the best is the Pasadena Executive Roundtable, an informal consortium of local nonprofit executive directors who meet to discuss leadership and management issues and hear speakers of interest. Led by a steering committee, the group meets ten times a year to explore relevant topics for organizations large and small. Lisa Wilson of the Flintridge Center managed this volunteer-led group for several years, and called on a JRP volunteer to create its website. Now it was time to update it.  JRP stepped forward again, matching awesome pro bono web developer Jason Orellana of Emphasis LA with the group. Jason’s attractive new site has drawn more nonprofits to the consortium. With 45 members, plus other EDs attending occasional meetings, it’s become “the” hub for local nonprofits. Thanks to Jason, PER has the professional image it needs to continue giving local EDs valuable input on running the best nonprofits possible.
