Board Member Matched with Friends of the Pasadena Public Library

How much does Shelley De Leon love libraries? Her husband proposed to her at the lovely Pasadena Central Library and they were married at another library. So when Shelley approached JRP about joining a nonprofit board, we had the perfect match. After having done a pro bono board development project for FPPL project last year, we knew just what they were looking for and Shelley was it!

FPPL supports the library’s programs, special services and cultural events; they raise funds through a bookstore and monthly book sales at Central Library, membership and events. As a Millennial with great tech, data management, and marketing skills, Shelley will be a great addition to this all-volunteer organization. She will also gain a great local community and build her leadership skills.

Check out the bookstore, which will be moving to a larger location by the north entrance to the library soon. If you are a Millennial (or a young-at-heart person of any age!) and might consider joining a board, please contact JRP Exec. Dir. Melanie Goodyear at MGoodyear@JRPasadena.org or 626-714-7234.
