Jericho Road Pasadena’s mission is to support other nonprofits and the Pasadena community.
“Jericho Road” is derived from imagery in a sermon by the Rev. Martin Luther King, when he exhorted his listeners to follow the example of the good Samaritan tending the injured traveler on the road to Jericho. “One day, the whole Jericho Road must be transformed so that men and women will not be beaten and robbed as they make their journey through life. True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar; it understands that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring.” – Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., from the speech Beyond Vietnam, April 1967
Dr. Terrence Roberts will also be the speaker at the annual Pasadena Mayor’s Interfaith Prayer Breakfast. Different nonprofits from around the community organize the breakfast and JRP is proud to be the 2020 organizer!
