NewTown Arts describes themselves as a persistent weed in the garden of art. JRP has seen that out-of-the-box arts organizations sometimes struggle to adapt to business best practices, but NewTown does both well. Despite their lack of business experience, our pro bono accountant worked with their part-time Executive Director, Board Treasurer and volunteer bookkeeper to understand and implement best practices. Learning standard financial best practices is helping them be anything but standard in promoting creative and provocative art.
