JRP Volunteer Spotlight: Linda Huetinck
Jericho Road Pasadena‘s mission is to bridge communities by matching the professional talents of volunteers with the needs of community-based nonprofit organizations to promote community development, strengthen social services, and enrich the lives of volunteers.
We value each and every volunteer who gives their time to our organization and are highlighting their work through a series of Volunteer Spotlights. JRP loves its volunteers who make our work possible!
Linda Huetinck has been a dedicated, long-term JRP volunteer who is always excited to take on new writing projects. Linda has completed over 168 hours of volunteer time through our skilled volunteer program! Her projects have included writing articles for the JRP newsletter, grant editing and writing to fund JRP programs, as well as grant facilitation and research for other local nonprofits. Linda enjoys volunteering with JRP as it allows her to utilize her writing skills while serving the greater Pasadena nonprofit community:
“I really have enjoyed writing grants for Jericho Road Pasadena. I’ve also enjoyed meeting with organizations to help them figure out what they need funding for and help them determine which funders they should be applying to. It feels good to put my skills to use to help nonprofits grow and sustain themselves.”
Linda’s most recent volunteer project was a grant application to the Ayrshire Foundation on behalf of JRP. She is passionate about the JRP mission and explaining to founders how a grant to JRP positively effects Pasadena nonprofits and the greater community as a whole:
“I think that JRP has a fantastic mission, I can’t put it more strongly. A lot of grants ask how many individual people are affected by our programs, but JRP assists whole organizations who impact the greater community, and I like to explain that larger impact.”
In addition to lending her grant writing skills to JRP, Linda finds other ways to get involved with her community. Whether it’s working with youth, volunteering as a docent at the Huntington Library or pointing people looking for volunteer opportunities in the right direction, Linda is busy engaging and volunteering with her community. We thank her for all of her service!
