Board Development with Leadership Pasadena
Leadership Pasadena is an eight-month series of workshops, retreats, and group projects designed to: Enhance awareness of how Pasadena is governed, its key decision-making entities, and the way they work. Enroll participants in a growing network of alumnae and supporters to achieve and sustain common objectives. Enhance skills, confidence, and know-how in tackling community challenges or attaining issue-based objectives. Provide participants tools to become a better-informed member of one’s own organization, linking it with greater knowledge and results with the community.
When looking for resources to help strengthen their board of directors’ performance, LP reached out to Jericho Road Pasadena for help in matching the organization with a board development coach. JRP’s skilled volunteer program matched two volunteers with LP’s Board of Directors.
Upon completion of their coaching partnership, LP was set on a clear path towards achievable goals (and with a new mission statement driving their strategic vision!)
“This project was completely successful in providing the direction needed so that we could develop our Board Members in order to develop our organization.” — Phyllis Lynes, Chair, Board Development at Leadership Pasadena
Many thanks to our two skilled volunteers whose pro bono consulting time made this project possible: Maria Simpson and Ken Chawkins. Thank you for your work in the community.
JRP has volunteer consultants skilled in accounting, finance, fundraising, board development, professional coaching, strategic planning, human resources, IT systems, database design, marketing, writing, photography, and video production. They’re all ready to be matched with a local nonprofit.
JRP also trains and matches local professionals to serve on nonprofit boards. We have a pool of recently trained potential board members ready to get to know your organization.
