Coaching with Friends in Deed

Friends in Deed is an interfaith organization that provides supportive services to meet basic human needs, so our homeless and at-risk neighbors can rebuild their lives. One of FID’s many programs includes their Women’s Room. Founded in 2007, The Women’s Room is the only organization in the San Gabriel Valley dedicated to serving women who are alone and homeless or at risk of homelessness. It is a daytime refuge known for wrapping its arms around the 20 to 35 women who come through the door each day

FID reached out to Jericho Road Pasadena looking for a coach to work with their case manager Debbie Turner. JRP matched the organization with Rex McDaniel, who volunteered to assist Debbie in developing her own coaching skills to better serve her clients. Rex met with Debbie over the course of three months with the goal of increasing her ability to help families identify their strengths, long-term goals, and what they bring to the table.

“I feel it has empowered me to ask the right questions to my clients which has helped us be a stronger organization.” – Debbie Turner, FID

JRP has volunteer consultants skilled in accounting, finance, fundraising, board development, professional coaching, strategic planning, human resources, IT systems, database design, marketing, writing, photography, and video production. They’re all ready to be matched with a local nonprofit.

JRP also trains and matches local professionals to serve on nonprofit boards. We have a pool of recently trained potential board members ready to get to know your organization.
