The 2021 Pasadena Mayor’s Interfaith Prayer event has been transformed into a weeklong virtual series. We will share a daily inspirational community message each morning beginning on Monday, May 3 and concluding on Friday, May 7. The series features a variety of prayer and music from Pasadena congregations and nonprofits.

One of the interfaith speakers this year is Cambria Tortorelli, who currently serves as the Parish Life Director (pastoral leader) at Holy Family Church in South Pasadena, California. Prior to moving to Holy Family, Cambria had a career in nonprofits, including key leadership positions as Assistant Executive Director at the Volunteer Center of Los Angeles and President of Valley Interfaith Council.

Cambria has served in a number of leadership positions in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, including Moderator for the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council (the advisory council to the Archbishop of Los Angeles). She has served on the Archdiocesan Justice and Peace Commission, as well as two of the Regional Pastoral Councils. She is one of the founders of Fair Trade LA. In 2011, Cambria received the Ignatian Volunteer Corps Madonna della Strada award for her commitment to social justice. She has conducted numerous workshops and retreats, particularly in the area of social justice. Cambria is a member of the St. John’s Seminary Board of Trustees, as well as the Mount Saint Mary’s University Board of Trustees and the board of Imagine LA, a nonprofit dedicated to ending the cycle of family homelessness and chronic poverty.

Cambria has a BA in English Language and Literature from Oxford University in England, and a Master’s degree in Religious Studies from Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles.
