HR Consulting with Foothill Creative Arts Group
Foothill Creative Arts Group is a vital, energetic, art center and gallery attracting more than 2000 students annually who both shop and take classes. The organization aims to enrich the lives of individuals through the arts – a place where children and adults come to experience the joy of creating art as well as to appreciate the artistic talents of others.
A high quality employee handbook is vital to the health of a nonprofit organization. With ever-changing labor laws, FCAG needed to both update their handbook to stay in compliance and to understand how to stay current on new laws and regulations. The organization came to Jericho Road Pasadena to help them find a skilled volunteer to assist them with this employee manual project.
JRP matched Christina Howard, a long-term JRP volunteer and skilled human resources consultant, with FCAG for this project and as a result, the organization quickly put to use their new handbook to assist with an expansion in staff.
“As a small organization with a limited budget, this project helped us to create an Employee Handbook ourselves and the resources we discovered in the process will allow us to manage 30+ part-time employees without having to hire a Human Resources expert or contract out for this help. The ability to do this ourselves will be a tremendous savings to our non-profit art center.” – Kristin Nara, Executive Director, Foothill Creative Arts Group
