Helping Kids Help Dogs Helping Kids

K9 Youth Alliance has a win-win mission: teach at-risk kids to train shelter dogs. Trained and socialized dogs get adopted more quickly and at-risk kids develop confidence, empathy and responsibility. What a win for both high-needs groups!

JRP has done a lot of work for K9YA since it launched in 2013; our most recent project was coaching for K9YA’s fabulous Executive Director, Kelly, who started out as a volunteer founder and Board Member and has grown the organization to have several staff, including her now-paid role. Enter nonprofit veteran Keith Buck, who worked for a wide range of nonprofits before retiring a few years ago. Working with Keith helped Kelly continue to grow in her role, thereby helping more kids and more dogs.

Kelly says of the project, “Keith is highly engaged and was very constructive, a definite touch stone to assist in my leadership goals.” And of JRP, she says, “You are such an incredible asset to the community and have been so instrumental in helping K9 Youth Alliance grow and continue to achieve its mission. We love you!”

And JRP loves helping such great organizations and loves our awesome volunteers like Keith!
