Have you ever thought about serving a nonprofit Board?

JRP provides a board matching program using a hands-on approach where we first meet with local nonprofits and local professionals looking for board service opportunities, and then we match the right person with the right board.

Mishka Michon is a JRP volunteer who joined the board of Family Promise of San Gabriel Valley through the JRP board matching program. She made the decision to join a board because she felt that “after a lifetime of nonprofit executive roles, it is rewarding to have the opportunity to apply the strategies and skills learned over decades with organizations that are working to build successful futures. “

After joining the board, she has gained a sense of accomplishment by assisting an organization in assessing its goals and developing plans to reach those goals. She said “there is also great reward in seeing directly the impact of the group’s work on the individuals in the impacted community. It was meaningful to assist the board in reviewing the role of board members to further their understanding what tasks were critical for individual members in order to achieve organizational goals.”
