Jericho Road Pasadena Holds an Evening of Appreciation

On November 17th, we hosted an “Evening of Appreciation” to honor our supporters who have demonstrated the belief that investing in our local nonprofits today yields a brighter future for our community tomorrow. The event, held at a private residence in South Pasadena, featured speakers including Gary Breaux, JRP Board Chair; Kim Olpin, Executive Director; Akila Gibbs, Executive Director of the Pasadena Senior Center, and Heather Tunis, JRP volunteer.

Gary Breaux kicked off the evening by welcoming supporters, thanking everyone for their support over the past 12 year, and introducing the current board of directors and JRP’s Executive Director, Kim Olpin.

Kim Olpin spoke to the attendees about the impact partnering with JRP has had on local nonprofit organizations. “We all know that Pasadena is blessed to have a large thriving nonprofit community,” said Kim. “From large organization with household names to small local groups with no paid staff, Pasadena is filled with people who want to give back, help those in need, and make our community and the world a better place. And, much like Pasadena itself, JRP has an outsized impact and reputation for its size.”

Akila Gibbs spoke to supporters about some of the 16 projects the senior center has had with JRP, including website analytics, wellness calls for over 2,000 seniors during the pandemic, marketing assistance, and multiple writing projects. “JRP has done so much for the Pasadena Senior Center. Things that we could have never done, never afforded and that really helped us promote our mission and serve older adults in the San Gabriel Valley…All of you should feel so good about yourselves for being a part of this organization…You have helped so many nonprofits serve their mission better.. I am truly thankful.” said Akila Gibbs.

Thank you everyone for coming!
