Chile Sin Cuenta exhibition
Commemorating 50 years of countless stories since September 11, 1973, the date of the violent US aided military coup that overthrew the freely elected government of Chilean president Salvador Allende and sent hundreds of thousands into exile. An exhibit that remembers decades of solidarity, memory and resistance, and recognizes generations of artists whose work is rooted in Chile, Los Angeles, and the world. This exhibition will feature works by Victor Castillo, Pablo Cristi, Francisco Letelier, Carmen Mardonez and Minga Opazo. It will also feature the works of arpilleristas auch as Ana Maria Cobos, Juani Funez-Gonzalez, Mary Gamboa, Nancy Rivera, Analya Slater, Elsa Vasquez Martin, and curator Isabel Rojas – Williams. Music will be provided by Jacqueline Fuentes.
