DEO announced the new LA Region Small Business and Worker Relief Funds this week on January 24th with the City of Los Angeles, SoCal Grantmakers and AidKit.
The funds provide direct cash assistance to those most impacted by the windstorms and wildfires. Eligible small businesses and nonprofits may receive up to a $25,000 grant, and eligible workers may receive a $2,000 grant. Multilingual assistance will be available to ensure everyone has access.
The funds are powered by a public and private partnership. DEO is kickstarting with $1 million in seed funding. Ongoing contributions are encouraged and being accepted. Support the fund by visiting lacounty.gov/relief.
Applications for small businesses, nonprofits, and workers will open early February 2025.
