As the California Art Club marks the 115th anniversary of its formation, it is joining forces with La Casita Foundation to present “Plein Air Paintings of the Arroyo Seco” Exhibition and Sale on Sunday, November 10 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free event aims to bring together the Pasadena and San Gabriel communities for a celebration of the scenic beauty and historic significance of the beloved Southern California canyon, which is also the birthplace of the Club. The one-day exhibition will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at La Casita del Arroyo and showcase more than 120 paintings of the protected parkland and “The Little House on the Arroyo,” the Pasadena landmark built in 1933 by eminent architect Myron Hunt. In addition to viewing the paintings, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the interior of La Casita and watch some of the artists at work, as they create paintings inspired by the views from the site.
