In honor of Women’s History Month, our Volunteer Spotlight series will highlight fantastic women who have generously shared their time and expertise with local nonprofits. Their work behind the scenes helps strengthen organizations across our community, and we’re grateful for the impact they’ve made.
One of those volunteers is Jenna Rose Hunter, who brings expertise in accounting, finance, and nonprofit operations to her volunteer work.
Jenna currently works as an Auditor for the United States Trustee Program and also serves as Lead Director for Triangle Advising. Her background in accounting, tax, and advising organizations on financial and operational systems allows her to help nonprofits build strong foundations for their work.
Jenna first connected with Jericho Road Pasadena in 2024 when JRP was at the Neighborhood Unitarian Universalist Church in Pasadena. After hearing about the organization’s mission to connect skilled volunteers with local nonprofits, she felt inspired to get involved.
“I like helping the community and love working with nonprofits,” Jenna shared. “It sounded like a great way to give back to the local community.”
Through JRP, Jenna has supported Soul Force Project, contributing her financial and operational expertise to help strengthen the organization’s work. She believes that many nonprofits already have the ideas and passion needed to create change. Often, what makes the difference is having the right structure and guidance to move forward.
“Especially here in the Los Angeles area, people have powerful ideas for building and strengthening communities,” Jenna says. “Sometimes what’s needed is operational insight, financial and regulatory guidance, administrative structure, and encouragement to help a cause grow and succeed.”
For Jenna, one of the most rewarding aspects of skilled volunteering is seeing nonprofit leaders gain confidence in their work.
“What I enjoy most about skilled volunteering is empowering compassionate and impressive people and hearing how much more confident they feel after our time together.”
Volunteers like Jenna demonstrate how professional expertise can help nonprofits move from great ideas to meaningful impact. We are grateful for Jenna’s dedication and the support she provides to our local nonprofit community.
