While new Jericho Road Pasadena volunteer Carla Griffin has not yet had the opportunity to share her wealth of experience with one of our local nonprofits, she’s more than ready to get started.
“As I begin volunteering with Jericho Road, I’m most excited about learning from the nonprofit leaders and organizations I’ll have the opportunity to support.”
Carla, who has amassed a substantial set of skills throughout her career, takes pride in putting that know-how to work. “Over the course of my career, I have developed expertise in human resources, nonprofit administration, operations management, process improvement, and organizational development. I enjoy helping organizations build strong foundations that allow their staff and volunteers to focus on fulfilling their mission.”
And Carla is confident that her experience can help nonprofits solve many of the operational challenges that often limit their impact. Her areas of expertise include:
- Human Resources: Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, policy development, compliance, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and creating consistent hiring and evaluation processes.
- Operations & Process Improvement: Developing efficient workflows, documenting procedures, improving administrative systems, managing facilities, vendor relationships, project management, and identifying opportunities to streamline operations.
- Strategic Planning & Organizational Development: Assisting leadership teams in establishing priorities, improving communication, implementing new systems, and creating sustainable processes that support long-term organizational growth.
- Volunteer & Staff Management: Building positive workplace cultures, supporting volunteer engagement, developing training materials, and helping teams work more effectively together.
- Technology & Systems Implementation: Evaluating and implementing software solutions, managing database conversions, improving data integrity, and helping organizations adopt technology that increases efficiency.
“I believe these skills can help nonprofits solve many of the operational challenges that often limit their impact. Many nonprofit leaders wear multiple hats and have limited time and resources to develop internal systems.”
Carla finds her greatest satisfaction in helping people and organizations become stronger behind the scenes, so they can make an even greater difference in the lives of the people they serve. “I would love the opportunity to give back to the community while using the skills I’ve developed over many years.”
