We post a lot about nonprofit boards, because they are such a crucial piece of nonprofit success. Find out more about how Jericho Road Pasadena matched Bret Schaefer with the board of Friends in Deed and the impact he made there in this new, 2-minute video: https://youtu.be/mzinHe1iHZs.
Jericho Road Pasadena offers The Leadership Connection (TLC) annually; TLC prepares participants for board duty and provides substantial individual development. The placement supports the health of local nonprofits and expands the influence of the individual in community affairs. It’s a true win-win. Three 3-hour sessions provide local and dynamic experts presenting each topic and a comprehensive participant guide that includes module content, articles and information about the nonprofit sector as well as links to valuable tools and resources on board leadership. Benefits include:
– Learning critical professional skills that apply both to nonprofit board service and business management.
– Supporting the important work carried out by nonprofit organizations that rely on local leadership.
– Raising your profile and influence in the community.
In addition to TLC, we have an informal board match-making process for people who don’t want / need the training and support offered through TLC. The informal process is simply a 1-hour meeting to learn more about you and your interests, then an e-introduction to some agencies that we think might be a good fit for you. As Bret mentions in the video, JRP is a great entree into the nonprofit community and we have connections with a wide range of organizations, so we can match you with a board where you can maximize your impact on the community, as well as have a rewarding volunteer experience.
Many thanks to Jim and Kris Sanders of Reel Ideas Media Production (www.reelideas.com) for producing this video!
Jericho Road Pasadena connects skilled volunteers and board members with nonprofits that offer critical services to under-served residents in their communities. Meeting this need allows nonprofit staff to focus on stronger delivery of services, thereby building better communities.
