A bequest is a gift made to Jericho Road Pasadena (JRP) through your will. Bequests can be for a specific dollar 
amount or for a percentage of your estate. You can also provide a contingent bequest, which would be honored only if other beneficiaries predecease you. Your gift may be in the form of cash, stocks, bonds, or other personal property. Your estate will receive an estate tax charitable deduction for the full amount of your cash bequest to JRP or for the fair market value of other donated assets. For a bequest of a specific sum:
“I give, devise and bequeath to Jericho Road Pasadena Inc., currently located at 75 South Grand Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91105, the sum of $________________ for its general purposes.”
For a bequest of a percentage of the estate:
“I give, devise and bequeath to Jericho Road Pasadena Inc., currently located at 75 South Grand Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91105, _______ percent of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate for its general purposes.”
For a contingent bequest:
“If any of the above-named beneficiaries should predecease me, I hereby bequeath his or her share to Jericho Road Pasadena Inc., currently located at 75 South Grand Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91105, to be used for its general purposes.”
