The Cancer Support Community, Pasadena ensures that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.
All of our programs and services are offered free of charge to individuals facing cancer, including their families and friends. Their wonderful Exec. Dir., Meg, was previously their Development Dir., so is great at raising money. But as finances become more complex, she wanted to make sure she was as strong in managing their money. Enter JRP finance volunteer Joy Hartley, who has worked with both nonprofits and for-profits. Joy and 2 of her students, Nina and Keegan, met over the spring and summer with Meg and other CSC staff to make sure everyone was on the same financial page with budgeting, reporting and forecasting. Meg and her staff learned a lot, but were also assured that they run a great organization. Thanks to Joy, Nina and Keegan to helping more cancer patients and their families get the support they need! You can support CSCP at their Ladies Night Out event on Oct. 4.
