There are several great ways to designate nonprofits with no additional cost to the consumer:
- Amazon Smile: smile.amazon.com: once you designate a nonprofit, a portion of all applicable purchases goes to that nonprofit.
- Ralph’s: https://www.ralphs.com/topic/community-contribution-2: once you sign up, a percentage of all your shopping at Ralph’s goes back to your designated charity
- Shop at many online stores through the Giving Assistant portal and a percentage of your purchases automatically goes back to the nonprofit of your choice.
- Escrip: Register store cards or credit/debit cards, then earn easily and automatically when you shop with merchants that give back.
Of course, signing up to give a monthly donation helps nonprofits budget and provide consistent services; JRP’s monthly giving program is through PayPal – more details on our donate page.
Most nonprofits love in-kind gifts, whether office supplies like paper and postage, or program supplies. (Melanie especially likes donations of chocolate and happily accepts them any time.)
Asking your employers to match a donation is great and everyone should make sure that their end-of-life planning includes money toward nonprofits.
Happy giving and receiving during the holidays!
