Board Development with SCHOOL Yoga
SCHOOL Yoga (Smiling Calm Hearts Open Our Learning) is a nonprofit on a mission to help teachers and students create focused, harmonious classrooms where learning and positive relationships flourish.
When SCHOOL Yoga founder Kelly Wood was looking to strengthen her board, she reached out to Jericho Road Pasadena for a skilled volunteer. JRP tagged seasoned volunteer and Board Member Anne Kennedy to assist with a Board Development Project. Anne had experiences with board development, mentoring and strategic planning, making her a great fit to work with Kelly and help the organization to grow.
Kelly and Anne worked together to define goals and concrete steps the organization would take to define board roles, engage current Board Members, and recruit new people. An expanded and active Board of Directors will greatly help SCHOOL Yoga in fundraising, marketing, recruiting, development, and growth of the organization in 2020 and beyond.
Kelly was delighted to work with Anne on this project.
