Practicing Joy in Times of Crisis
Community Gatherings that Restore & Renew
If you work in nonprofits or community spaces and have been holding the heartbreak of wildfires, political violence and ongoing collective crises, this space is for you. Practicing Joy in Times of Crisis is a series of 10 community gatherings; five virtual and five in-person, designed to help you reconnect with joy and hope as intentional practices.

Somatic Movement for Rest, Renewal & Joy
Join us for an in-person community gathering designed to help you refill your cup and reconnect with vitality. This is dedicated time to step out of constant response mode and into embodied restoration.
We’ll begin with grounding and a brief community circle, an opportunity to land, breathe, and connect with others who are also holding space in their communities. There is something powerful about being in a room with people who understand the weight of the work.
Hala will then guide you through gentle somatic and yoga-based movements to support nervous system regulation, release stored tension, and restore energy. These practices are accessible to all levels of flexibility and mobility; you are invited exactly as you are.
From there, we’ll open into a more spontaneous movement experience with music to inspire you. You may choose to rest quietly, or you might find yourself moving to the rhythm. There is no right way, only an invitation to follow what feels honest and alive in your body.
We’ll close with guided self-reflection and optional sharing to integrate the experience.
Come to reconnect with yourself.
Come to remember joy in your body.
Come to be in community.
