Shepherd’s Pantry in Glendora provides emergency food, clothing, resource assistance and educational programs to families in need at times of crisis. As one of the few providers of basic needs in the central and east San Gabriel Valley, the organization is seeking additional resources to meet the huge need there. A few years ago, a JRP volunteer helped the organization create a comprehensive policies & procedures manual – a key to good board and staff development, organizational efficiency and growth. Last year, Shepherd’s Pantry absorbed another food pantry, and they’re still working on new financial reporting that reflects their multiple locations and programs. Recently, JRP’s expanding Board Matching Service placed Tina Marcelo of E-Central Credit Union on the SP board, where she’s applying her financial knowledge to this challenge. By working with Shepherd’s Pantry to address these issues, JRP volunteers are helping this vital organization aid even more families in need. Thank you, Tina!
