From the times of epic writer Homer, there is a tradition of blind singers. The Academy of Music for the Blind continues the tradition by educating and meeting the needs of talented blind and visually impaired youth by developing their unique musical, creative, academic, social and physical skills.
The pandemic has created a great opportunity for AMB to offer their services across the US, so they are growing by leaps and bounds. To support this growth, founders David and Gayle Pinto need a larger board. JRP recently placed a new board member, Durdana Karim on their board. As a corporate attorney, Durdana understands good governance and how to build corporate infrastructure while minimizing risk. She was drawn to their mission after seeing the heart-warming videos of AMB students in concert.
Thanks to Durdana for supporting blind children across the US. To hear AMB’s lovely music, visit http://ouramb.org/media/#featured-videos.
