Board Placement at the Pasadena Audubon Society

The Audubon Society not only educates people about birds and the joy of birding, it also participates in ecological and conservation work. It can be difficult to have such a broad mission, but Pasadena’s Audubon chapter has diverse programs including school gardens and ecological advocacy, as well as the tradition bird-watching and education programs.

Sok Tng, a forward-thinking information professional, has volunteered with JRP since 2014 in research, fundraising and evaluation. When she mentioned that she had been a conservation professional in her home country, we knew she’d be the perfect fit for the Pasadena Audubon Society’s board of directors. Sok attended JRP’s last Effective Board workshop, which added to her extensive knowledge about the nonprofit sector, and has officially joined the PAS board! She has already gone birding with a couple of the board members, a perfect pandemic activity!

Many thanks to Sok for signing up for board service; her time and talents will help educate children and adults about the wonders of nature and preserve a community that is healthy for birds, humans and all living creatures!
