Throwback Thursday: A Satisfying Outcome
Last week, we posted about placing a new board member with the Altadena Library Foundation. JRP has worked a lot with the Altadena Library, including supporting the tax measure that ensures the Library’s existence. We so glad the Altadena is thriving! From December 2014:
The Alliance to Save Our Altadena Libraries formed to advocate for renewal of a parcel tax in Altadena that funds part of their library budget and the measure was passed last month! As a campaign, rather than an on-going organization, they needed some immediate help, so JRP paired Karen, a fundraising volunteer with a background in political campaigns, to help them initially frame their plans. JRP normally doesn’t work with organizations with a political mission, but we’ve done a lot of other work with the Altadena Library and the various nonprofits that support it, so this seemed like a natural extension of our work. Like most nonprofits, we make a lot of effort to evaluate the impact of our work. But in this case, the impact was clear: the measure passed and Altadena’s Library will continue to be funded! Thanks to Karen for helping the Alliance and congratulations to the many volunteers who worked so hard to pass the tax measure!
